Objective:

I am looking to find a teaching position within the state of Colorado.  I would like to work at a newer school where I can come in and create the curriculum.  I am currently working to get my alternate teaching certification completed.  I am qualified to teach business classes on the secondary level.

Experience

2006-2010  Campus Monitor, Greeley Central High School

I work with two other monitors at GCHS.  As a team, we patrol the school halls and grounds.  We also lock exterior doors during the day to keep people from entering the building and wandering the school unescorted.  If there are students wandering the halls, we will stop them and check their schedules to make sure the student isn’t ditching class.  We help maintain the integrity of the school by picking up trash, reporting and cleaning up vandalism, and assist other faculty and staff with helping set up and take down decorations for special events.  At the end of the day, I would oversee detention.  I also issue parking permits and parking tickets during the school year.  When needed, one of the monitors would sit inside a classroom when requested by the instructor.

2007-2009  Reader, Measured Progress

This was temporary work during the summer or in the fall.  I worked with a team of readers to grade student assessment tests for the state of Massachusetts and Kentucky.  Over the past three summers, I have done 10th and 11th grade math.  I have also done 7th and 8th grade math. I have done 3rd and 4th grade reading and writing during the fall session.  Each reader was given training so we would understand the rubrics that had been created by that state’s Board of Education.  We were given packets showing how to grade the tests and would use the packets to guide our grading.  Each test was graded twice by two different readers to confirm proper grading.  Once we completed training each reader had to take a qualification test before grading the tests.  At the beginning of each day, each reader is required to take a recalibration test to refresh his/her memory of what is being scored.  For the summer of 2009, I was picked to do field testing.  Field testing is where readers are picked to grade assessment test questions and give feedback on how the test was scored, what could be done better, how the scoring should be changed to make the scoring more clear, and how quickly the scoring went.
